This Privacy Policy explains how KIKA TECH (HK) HOLDINGS CO., LIMITED ("KIKA," "we," or "us") handles information when you use the Xboard host app, keyboard extension, and related services, and how you can manage that information.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to the Xboard host app, keyboard extension, AI Write, voice input, translation, photo input, clipboard, and related features. Third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies, which are not replaced by this Policy.
Standard keystrokes, composition text, candidate generation, autocorrection, and next-word prediction are processed by the Xboard input pipeline and embedded input engines on your device. Enabling the keyboard alone does not automatically send ordinary input content to the cloud.
Settings and Privacy Choices
Keyboard languages, layouts, feedback settings, selected voice service, AI Write mode, privacy mode, and related preferences are stored on the device or in the Xboard App Group container so the host app and keyboard extension remain consistent.
Clipboard
Xboard reads clipboard text only when you actively open, save, or manage the clipboard feature and the system permits access. Saved text, pinned status, and timestamps are stored in the App Group container and are not uploaded to Xboard cloud services merely because you use the clipboard feature. You can delete individual items or clear all clipboard content.
Photo and Image Text Recognition
When you actively take a photo or choose an image for input, Xboard uses Apple Vision to recognize text on the device. The image is not uploaded to Xboard cloud services. Recognized text is written temporarily to the App Group and deleted immediately after the keyboard reads it. You can also cancel without inserting the result.
3. Information Sent When You Use Cloud Features
AI Write
When you submit an AI Write request, Xboard sends the full text entered in the AI Write field, the selected writing mode, and the current keyboard language to generate and return a result.
Voice Input
When you start voice input, Xboard sends microphone audio and the recognition language. When Amphion is used, the selected text cleanup level and emotion detection setting are also sent. The audio is used to convert speech to text.
Translation
When you request a translation, Xboard sends the recognized speech text to be translated and the target language to generate and return the translation.
Device and Request Information
When connecting to Kika cloud services, Xboard sends a randomly generated device identifier stored on the device, country or region, system language, iOS version, app version, and request time. This information is used for service authentication, compatibility, security, and troubleshooting.
4. System Permissions
Keyboard Full Access: Used to share settings between the host app and keyboard extension and to connect to cloud features you actively use. Full Access alone does not mean that you consent to personal data transmission. Cloud features remain controlled by Xboard's privacy mode and your actions.
Microphone: Used to capture audio only when you enable and use voice input.
Camera and Photos: Accessed only when you take a photo or choose an image for on-device text recognition.
Clipboard: Text is read only when you actively use the clipboard feature and the system authorizes access.
You can revoke camera, photo, microphone, or Keyboard Full Access permissions in iOS Settings.
5. How We Use Information
We use the information described above only to:
provide the input, AI Write, speech recognition, translation, clipboard, and photo input features you request;
authenticate requests, prevent abuse, and protect service security;
troubleshoot issues, maintain compatibility, and improve service reliability; and
comply with applicable law and respond to valid legal requests.
We do not use AI Write text, voice audio, or translation text for targeted advertising. If we plan to use this content for a new purpose not listed in this Policy, we will update the disclosure first and obtain permission again when required by applicable law or platform rules.
6. Recipients and Sharing
Kika cloud services: Receive AI Write, translation, service authentication, and related device and request information.
Agora: When you select Agora voice services, receives voice audio, the recognition language, and information required to establish a recognition session.
Amphion: When you select Amphion voice services, receives voice audio, the recognition language, and text cleanup and emotion detection settings.
We require service providers that receive data to process it only for the agreed purposes under contract and to provide protection that is no less protective than this Policy. We do not sell personal information or allow third parties to use the cloud AI content described above for targeted advertising.
We may disclose necessary information when required by law, to protect users or service security, or in connection with a merger or asset transfer. A recipient in a business transfer must continue to honor the commitments in this Policy.
7. Retention and Deletion
Local settings and privacy choices remain until you change them, clear app data, or uninstall Xboard. Clipboard content remains until you delete or clear it. Photo input OCR results are deleted after the keyboard reads them.
Cloud services retain information only for as long as needed to provide the relevant feature, maintain security, resolve disputes, or comply with law. Specific periods may differ by provider and depend on service configuration and contractual requirements. You can use the contact details below to request access, correction, or deletion.
8. Security
Xboard uses encrypted network connections for cloud requests and relies on the iOS sandbox and App Group access controls to protect local data. We limit access to people and service providers that need the information to provide, maintain, or protect the services.
No system can guarantee absolute security. If a data security incident may affect your rights, we will take remedial steps and provide notice as required by applicable law.
9. International Processing
KIKA or its service providers may process information outside your country or region. Where information is processed across borders, we use contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards required by applicable law.
10. Your Choices and Rights
select Basic Typing Mode under Privacy & Permissions to stop using cloud AI features;
revoke related permissions in iOS Settings;
delete local clipboard content or uninstall the app to remove Xboard local data; and
request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or withdrawal of consent where provided by applicable law.
We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
11. Children's Privacy
Xboard is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Users under 16 in the European Economic Area should use Xboard only with authorization from a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate authorization.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when features, laws, or data practices change. Material changes will be communicated through the website or an appropriate in-app notice and will apply from the stated effective date. Review this page periodically for the latest version.
